TheMicrosettaInitiative(també conegutcomAmericanGutProject) és un projecte de recerca acadèmica sense
ànim de lucre dirigit perKnightLaba la Facultat de Medicina de la Universitat de Califòrnia, a San Diego. L’objectiu
és contribuir al coneixement personal de com afecta la dieta i la manera de cuinar en tot el procés d’absorció de
nutrients i en la nostra microbiota. És el projecte més gran sobre la microbiota que s’ha realitzat al món.El Science
andCookingWorldCongressha volgut iniciar una col·laboració que s’ha ofert a tots els inscrits.
Daniel McDonald s’ha connectat des de San Diego per explicar detalladament el projecte, les principals preguntes
de recerca i algunes hipòtesis preliminars.

The Microsetta Initiative (TMI) is based in theKnight Labat theUC San Diego School of Medicine. It is a highly
collaborative initiative that works alongsideUC San Diego’s Center for Microbiome Innovation. One of the main goals
is to analyze how the diet and the way of cooking affect nutrient absorption and our microbiome. This is the world’s
largest citizen science microbiome project. The Science and Cooking World Congress wanted to initiate a collaboration
that has been offered to all the participants at the congress.
Daniel McDonald, a researcher at the Knights Lab at the University of California, has connected live during the
congress to explain in detail the project, main research questions, and some of the preliminary hypothesis and
results.
